HP Scanjet 7400C problems - scanner could not be initialized? - scanjet 7400c initialized

I bought a 2nd Hand 7400C scanner and can not install on a laptop - Windows XP operating system.

Error message - "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized (Scanner not found)"

That's what I've done / found so far ....
- Downloaded all the software / drivers from the HP website
- Note that the laptop found and installed the scanner found and installed (and the beginning, and it appears in My Computer
- Find the error in the HP Web site, the problems with the installation of remote LAN recommends ... adopted by the recommended procedure, but I think yours is the problem that LAN install "inactive" and not in regedit
- He tried a different USB port
- Cable OK, as I took her cCURRENT scanners
- Let the software uninstalled twice (HP PrecisionScan Pro 3.02)
- Scanner is already showing on the LCD after initalizing

Not sure what to try that next - Need Advice?

Thanks in advance Phil
